Indigenous Language Library

The only nation to have retained their indigenous writing and numerical system, Ethiopia is in a unique position to maintain a living legacy for the continent of Africa and the world. Unfortunately, modern education systems and libraries have displaced the indigenous languages in favor of foreign writing systems and publications. Each Indigenous Language Library dedicates itself to housing at least 80% of their texts within the indigenous language of the community. Funding for these projects are used to refurbish and build libraries, purchase indigenous language books, build age appropriate seating and shelving, and more.
